Cancer detection

At the turn of our century, the Pine Street Chinese Benevolent Association in Northern California pioneered in cancer-detection scent-work using Canadian-bred Standard Poodle Shing-Ling; the associated Pine Street Clinic is a traditional Chinese medicine clinic. See: "Exhaled breath analysis: developing new methods of clinical diagnosis", a funding proposal presented in February 2001 at the Sensory Research Institute (Florida State University). For current information, see Canine Scent Detection of Lung and Breast Cancers: A Randomized, Double-Blinded Diagnostic Study.
